Kazgeology is performing prospecting works in the North-Aktan ore occurrence
“Kazgeology” JSC perfroms search and evaluation work for lead and zinc in the North-Aktan ore occurrence. The land area is 0.332 km2. The purpose of the work is to identify and delineate perspective areas and ore occurrences of lead, zinc and other minerals for the assessment of lead and zinc reserves in category C2, as well as forecast resources, preliminary geological and economic assessment and justification of further exploration. According to preliminary data, the North-Aktan ore occurrence is a low- temperature manifestation of lead-zinc mineralization, which may sometimes be superimposed on the zones of scanned rocks (zones of metasomatic change). In 2018, a complex of geological and geophysical works was performed, including areal magnetic exploration over the network and electrical exploration using the subsurface median gradient induced polarization method. In the same year, 62 wells were drilled in the volume of 6,200r.m. with a depth of 100-120 m. Lead-zinc mineralized zones with a thickness of 1 to 7.0m were identified in the wells. In 2019-2020 it was drilled in the volume of 7900r.m. with a depth of 150- 300 m. To assess geophysical anomalous zones, as well as trace mineralization to a depth based on data obtained in 2018 The drilled wells visually show sulfide mineralization represented by sphalerite, galenite, and very abundant pyrite mineralization in the zones of metasomatically altered rocks. The prospects for the North-Aktan ore occurrence will be known upon completion of exploration work.
