National Geological Exploration Company KazGeology JSC and National Center of Space Researches and Technologies JSC held an online meeting
On 20.11.2020, National Geological Exploration Company KazGeology JSC and National Center of Space Researches and Technologies JSC (hereinafter – NCSRT) held discussions via video conference call on the possibility of using space methods of the Earth remote sensing (ERS) to identify the areas of mineralization of solid minerals, promising oil and gas structures and geodynamical monitoring.
In section 5.1.6. “Implementation of a set of high-tech methods for predicting mineral deposits” of the “State program of geological exploration of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021-2025” project provides for the use of remote sensing methods along with the other modern methods of geological exploration (geochemical mapping using mobile forms, airborne geophysical methods as part of gravity exploration, aeromagnetic and aero-gamma-surveys), in the form of advanced prospecting methods, and as independent exploration methods.
For reference: the subject of NCSRT activity is fundamental and applied research within the public, industry, and international programs and projects, as well as works on grants from domestic and foreign funds, for geological mapping of rocks, searching for ore deposits (copper-porphyry, etc.), and identifying promising oil and gas structures using remote sensing methods.
