Drilling operations have been completed at the Kherson site
Drilling of boreholes has been completed at the Kherson site. As of 10.06.2022, in accordance with the amendments, 2 boreholes of 400 p.m. were drilled in order to confirm/refute the assumptions of the spread of highly mineralized zones made by the authors of previously performed projects and 1 borehole with a depth of 200 p.m. to study the nature of the anomaly of previously conducted areal geophysical studies, which were certified by modern methods of geophysical research in 2020. Geophysical studies have also been carried out in boreholes, which will allow to divide the section and identify areas with anomalous properties in order to conduct a more thorough research.
At present, work is underway on the intermediate interpretation of data and the selection of core and geochemical samples. The results of laboratory studies upon completion of the work will make it possible to assess the prospects of the site by identifying prospecting indicators specific to porphyry copper deposits.
For reference: The Kherson site is located on the territory of the Kargalinsky district of the Aktobe region, in the area of the village. Kherson.
The main task of prospecting is to carry out geological work with the identification and delineation of promising mineral deposits, with an assessment of reserves and forecast resources of categories C2 and P1, a preliminary geological and economic assessment and justification of further exploration.
83 boreholes were drilled at the Kherson site in the period of 2020-2021. There are exactly 74 boreholes of a prospecting and mapping nature and 9 boreholes of a prospecting purpose for assessing geophysical anomalies and previously identified mineralization zones.
In 2022, an amendment was made to the project for additional study, mine development operations were replaced by drilling programmes due to the spread of a powerful residuum on the studied area.
